Port Boating Ramp

"I have just returned from a holiday at Kaiteriteri Beach and would like to offer my congratulations and thanks to the Kaiteriteri Boating Club for the wonderful boating ramp they have provided for the public. What I want to know is when are we going to get something as good at the Nelson port? The launching ramp there is a disgrace to the city. At low tide cars and trailers get bogged down in the mud and have to be pulled out," writes "Boatie".

Ed's note: Good times are ahead, "Boatie". The Nelson Harbour Board's engineer, Mr Dan Calwell, told us that it is hoped to commence the new launching ramp in two or three months.
