St. John Cadets Compete
"Here is a man who went shooting and who tripped. His gun went off giving him a bad gunshot wound and in tripping he fell over a cliff, breaking his leg in the fall. What would you do about this?" This was a question asked of St John Ambulance cadets from units in the Nelson district when they competed in Nelson recently. Before them the teams found patients with injuries described by the examiner. They were judged on how these were treated. We peeped in for a short time and came away with the conviction that if we were ever unfortunate enough to suffer similar injuries, we would be in good hands if our first-aiders were St John cadets.
