New deputy registrar at the Nelson Magistates' Court is Les McElhinney. Prior to coming here he and wife were in Oamaru. Both are keen golfers and have joined the Nelson Golf Club and Les is also in the R. S. A. Bowling Club.

Back in Nelson are Stuart Mirfin and family. Stuart, a bank officer with the Canterbury Savings Bank, is nursing Zane, and his wife, Sherry, is keeping Scott under control. They left Nelson for Christchurch some time ago but have come here from Opunake, their next stop after the Garden City.
