Soccer Title to Otago

With a 3-nil win over the much-fancied Canterbury team, Nelson only needed to beat Otago in its last game to win the South Island under-16 soccer title, when the tournament was played at Nelson. But Otago, a very experienced and robust side, was too much for Nelson, which wilted badly in the second half. At Left, the deputy-Mayor, Mrs Betty Eyre, presents the trophy to Otago skipper, Alister Calvert. The other pix were taken during this game.
