Never Again, Please
"Thunderstruck" is the only word which captures the feeling of many of Sunday's gallery when they learned that Nelson's Murray Gyde had obtained permission to drop out of the team for the Sunday games to play in a club fixture. Surely, a player is either available for a full fixture or he is not. And the lame excuse of non-playing captain Reg Ford ("the match was not a serious representative fixture") doesn't go down, either. Wellington thought it serious enough to send its top team.
