Wellington Wins Golf Match

A very strong Wellington representative golf team had a convincing 13 games to 3 win over a Nelson-Marlborough side at the Greenacres course recently. The visitors won all eight of the first-round games, but lost three on the second day. Feature of the fixture was the win by Nelson golfer, Darryl Templeman, over New Zealand representative John Durry. In this 3 and 2 win, Templeman shot a two under 71 to record the best round of the weekend. Another outstanding win was that of Brian Wislang's. Called in as a replacement for the second round and without a feel of the course, he beat P. Wells 1 up. J. Nicholls scored the third win with a 3 and 1 victory over C. Castle.
