Six years ago on this page we welcomed the family of Noeline and Grahame Strachan on their arrival in Nelson. This month we say goodbye, as Noeline and Grahame take family Michael, Ian and Jennifer to Masterton. Sue, at right, is already in Wellington at the teachers' college there. Grahame, accountant with National Mortgage and Agency (formerly Levins) will take up a similar post with the firm at Masterton.

The Vernon family, Dick and Jenny and children, Libby, Mandy and Belinda, have left Nelson for Auckland. Dick and Jenny came to Nelson 7½ years ago when Dick was appointed local manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company. In Auckland he takes up the post of freight manager at the Auckland office. Dick was one of the founders of the Nelson Squash Club, and one of the club's top players.

Up from Christchurch are George and Celia Gallie and family, Susan and David. They have taken over the Stoke Superette. Celia is an old Nelsonian (nee Hodge) and is returning here after an absence of 14 years.
