Nelson district residents who may be flying around the world in Air New Zealand aircraft are quite likely to find their aircraft crewed by former district men and women. The seven officers shown here, and attractive flight hostess Elizabeth Greenland in the "hot seat", are all from the Nelson district - five from Motueka and three from Nelson. They are Flt/Engineer Gary Smith (Nel), Flt/Engineer David MacPherson (Motueka), Flt/Navigator Malcolm Forsyth (Mot), Flt/Capt Frank Kilgour (Mot), Miss Greenland (Nel), Flt/Capt Robin McGrath (Mot), First Officer Robert Craigie (Nel), and Flt/Engineer Alister Edwards (Mot). And another former Nelsonian took the pictures. Remember Lex Kempton, photographer on the "Mail"? He's now in Auckland in business as a photographer.
