Hira Home Destroyed

Many household possessions of the family of Mr and Mrs J. R. Callender were lost in a blaze which gutted the house they occupied at Hira earlier this month. The rear of the building was quickly destroyed, but the Nelson Fire Brigade, although severely hampered by lack of water, saved the kitchen block. What was left, however, was uninhabitable.
