Nelson Loses McCarthy Cup

For the second time within a fortnight Nelson handed over to Marlborough's safe keeping a hockey cup. The Maadi Cup was first to go, then two weeks later Marlborough came back strongly in the second half to score two goals to Nelson's one and win 3-2. After the game, a match between the Maadi Cup districts' Xi was played with an Invitation Xi. This ended in a 2-all draw.
