Massed Band Recital

On Easter Saturday morning at the Salvation Army Citadel grounds, Gisborne bandsmen combined with members of the Wellington South Salvation Army Band, to give a small but appreciative audience a massed bands recital.

Elder David Blackinton, from U.S.A., lectured the bandsmen on the non-pressure method of playing, after which he demonstrated the technique with an outstanding cornet solo.

The Gisborne Civic Band's newly appointed conductor, Mr J. R. Rutherford, conducted the massed bands.
