Midget Car Races

A large crowd derived an enjoyable day's entertainment from the Glsbome Motor Cycle and Midget Car Club's Easter meeting at their quarter-mile circuit at the Showgrounds.

Many visiting drivers were competing, star of whom was unquestionably Miss Margaret Ellis, the sixteen-years-old lass from the Kihikihi Club, who with her father, Mr Rod Ellis, makes up the only father and daughter team in the Dominion. A very capable driver, she won the heart of the crowd as she roared round the track leaving many of the male drivers in a cloud of dust and exhaust fumes.
