Ballroom Dancing Championships

Ballroom dancers from as far afield as Auckland and Palmerston North competed in the annual Poverty Bay-East Coast ballroom dancing championships at the Army hall on Easter Saturday. Organised and emceed by Mr Charles Fitness, the championships drew a large number of entrants, with the four main titles going to Auckland couples.

The principal events were held at night in conjunction with a dance and items by the guest artists, the Kini Quartet and the Henry Rudolph Choir from Wellington.

The finale of the evening was the trophy presentation by the Public Relations Officer's wife, Mrs D. R. Clarke.
