Two Gisborne girls who are making a name for themselves in widely different fields are the daughters of Mr and Mrs R. P. Baigent, Fox Street. At left is Dr Nancy Baigent, who has recently returned from America where she worked for, and received her Ph.D. degree. She is now stationed with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in Auckland.

Her sister, Jennifer is making a career in the musical world as a flautist. She now holds her LRSM and LTCL (practical) diplomas, has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra, and has been selected as a trainee for the National Orchestra.

Gisborne's loss of Jennifer Baigent to Wellington musical circles is balanced by a recent acquisition in the person of Mr G. H. Hollobon, the new organist-choirmaster at Holy Trinity. Mr Hollobon holds the degree of B.Sc. and the diplomas LRSM and FTCL. He is a graduate of Canterbury University, and has completed his thesis for the Mus. Bac. degree.
