Maori Competitions

Fifteen teams entered for this year's Maori Competitions, held at the Opera House last Friday, before packed houses.

The only festival of its kind in the Dominion, it is considered a most important factor in maintaining the standard of Maori arts and culture.

Tokomaru Bay won the agregate points trophies in both the primary and junior sections, with L.D.S. to the fore in the senior section.
