Pipeline Reaches Main Street

Gladstone Road in the centre of the city is in a state of turmoil these days, as ditch-diggers, graders, power rammers and scoops advance relentlessly with the task of laying the new water main from Lytton Road to Kaiti.

The main will boost water supplies for growing Kaiti residential areas. Next stage, to be started in a month or so, will be the building of a two-million-gallon reservoir on Nob Hill, at Kaiti, approximately opposite and in line with Tyndall Road.
