East Coast basketball representatives from Tolaga Bay are Mrs T. Rangiuia (J. Bartlett) and Janet Henry.

Tolaga Bay members of C Company, 28th Maori Battalion, who attended the recent reunion at Rotorua, are B. Smith (late of Mahia), T. Wharehinga (now of Tirau), H. Karini, A. Wanoa, S. Sadlier (obscured), J. Maurirere, S. Henare, A. Peters, H. Tautau, T. Maurirere.

Talking of Rugby of 40 years ago are H. K. Tamihana and S. D. Reeves. They first played together for the Hauiti Club in 1921. Both were Tolaga Bay reps in 1921, & Mr Reeves was an E.C. rep and All Black trialist in 1924. "Hori" was employed by the Reeves family for 16 years at "Te Rimu".

1919 snap shows E. A. (Barney) Lincoln, of Gisborne, one of the 5 surviving original members of the Hauiti Football Club, which will be holding its 50th anniversary celebrations in 1962. The others are J. Henare (Wellington), J. Thompson (Rotorua), J. Callaghan (Gisborne), and N. Jones Sr. (Hauiti).

Rangiora Te-Maari, son of Mr and Mrs A. Te-Maari, Mangakino (formerly of Hauiti), who last year at the L. D. S. College, Hamilton, won an Eisenhower Scholarship to study in the U.S.A. in 1962.
