Bowie Cup Basketball

The annual Queen's Birthday basketball tournament was played in fine weather at Victoria Reserve, and this year the senior honours were won by a Gisborne team, High School A2, who defeated Greywing A in the final by 18 to 15 to hold the Bowie Cup for the year.

For the first time, a junior section was held. The winners were Ilminster, who defeated Intermediate in the final by 23 to 7.

A good standard of basketball was seen in the junior competition, held for the first time this year.

The contest final, played at the same time as the senior final, was won by Ilminster Intermediate.
