Nine records went by the board at the annual athletic sports of the Gisborne Girls High School held last week.

Just The Fastest. When the Gisborne Car Club held its quarter-mile sprint event at Brunton's Road, Patutahi, this month, the star performer was this Aston-Martin Tourisimo (1960 model, 3.8 litre, cost £4600) owned and driven by R. Stewart (Christchurch). It did the ¼ mile in l6. 3sec., can get down to 15sec. It is pictured here on the 100 m.p.h. mark.
