Pulling up the Line

The demolition of the Gisborne-Motuhora railway line, which started some months ago from the railhead, has now reached a point only a few miles from Makaraka.

When "Photo News" visited the scene recently, the gang was uplifting the rails at the main highway crossing on the Gisborne side of Kaitaratahi.
