At the final midget car meeting for the year at Gisborne Showgrounds, it was a day of thrills and spills.

In the final of the Benson Bros. handicap event, P. Nicholas's car went into a spin at the finish of the race and rolled over twice. The driver fractured a wrist.

In the final motor-cycle race, B. Fox fell and suffered a broken arm.

There were six visiting drivers from Kihi Kihi and Rotorua.
