A sketch of the new tug for the Gisborne Harbour Board, drawn by the naval architect, Mr A. W. Burns, Wellington, who is designing the vessel, gives an excellent impression of what the new vessel will look like when completed. The tug will be 55ft long, with a beam of 16ft 8in and a draught of 8ft 2in. She will be powered by a 495 h. p. diesel engine. According to scale the man standing near the rudder is 6ft in height. The board is at present awaiting final plans and specifications before calling for tenders for the construction of the vessel.
