"Aladdin in the Underground"

Two capacity houses appeared to enjoy to the full the presentation by the Intermediate Schoolboys' Choir of the operetta, "Aladdin in the Underground" in the assembly hall last week.

Originally written for and produced by the boys of Cheam School, England, the operetta gives its large cast of 60 boys ample scope singing, excitement, and humour.

Production was by Mr T. Nalder, a teacher at the school, and the pianist was David James, a pupil. Parents, teachers at the school, and others assisted with the production.

The story revolves round the Widow Twankey (above) and her son Aladdin, who run a laundry in Pekin. Aladdin is tricked by the villain Almanazor into the Magic Cave, when adventures follow thick and fast.
