Red Cross on Parade

Gisborne is not addicted to street parades, so that it was a pity that the weather was so unkind for the parade staged by the Gisborne Red Cross to publicise their appeal for funds and to impress the public with the variety of its services to the community.

Led by the Pipe Band, the procession was headed by Members of the Junior Red Cross from Gisborne and associated districts, followed by cars and trucks representing services such as "Meals on Wheels" and "Shop on Wheels".
