This "whopper" egg was laid by a white Leghorn hen owned. by Mrs Lionel Hyde, Waipaoa. It weighed 6¾oz, and is seen here alongside a normal 2oz egg.

A great many people came to Gisborne for the Lions game, and among them was Mr Terry McLean, sports editor of the New Zealand Herald, who has just written a new book entitled "Great Days of N. Z. Rugby". Terry is seen here autographing copies of his book at Muir's Book Shop, in company" with the manager, Mr E. S. Toogood, and staff members.

A Sunday afternoon drive often produces many unusual sights, and this was one which greeted Mr G. L. Batchelor, of Cook Hospital, on a July Sunday on the road to Rere, when he came across this car neatly resting on its nose. For a better look at the car, turn this page (upside down)
