Children in Fancy Dress

Arts Balls for adults don't seem to take on particularly well in Gisborne but fancy dress parties for school children are always a rousing success.

These pictures were taken at the annual costume party of Awapuni School held in the War Memorial Hall.

The school fancy-dress party was also the occasion for the first presentation of the Fraser Cups, given by the Fraser family in memory of the late Mr W. H. Fraser, a stalwart supporter of the Awapuni School for many years. The cups are to be awarded annually to the most improved boy and girl swimmer in the school.
