Building Started in Fitzgerald State Housing Block

After many months of work in laying out the area, planning and forming entry roads, the first buildings have been commenced in the large new state housing area known as the Fitzgerald Block.

The block fronts on to Wainui Road, was previously a portion of Mr Ned Fitzgerald's racing stables. Entry roads have already been opened - one off Wainui Road - one leading into Ranfurly St. below Poho-o-Rawiri meeting house.
