Long Community Service.

The death of Mr E. H. Baker J.P. at his home at Makarori Beach, ended a long life of service and interest in the Gisborne district. Mr Baker to the district in 1911, served on the Cook County Council, High School Board of Governors, Hawkes Bay Education Board and many other boards and companies.
Mr Baker is survived by one son and two daughters, all reshding in the Gisborne district.

Nurse Completes Training.
Miss Kitty Graham, daughter of Mr and Mrs Cecil Graham, Waipaoa, who has just completed her nursing training at Greenlane Hospital, Auckland, and her maternity at the Women's National. Miss Graham is now travelling to England on board the "Orcades".

Golf Champions.
Members of the eight club teams who participated in the C Zone Pennant match at Tolaga Bay Golf Club. Played on a stableford bogey basis the team with the highest aggregate score wins the pennant.
The winning Tolaga Bay team are Miss Whatuira, Mrs Bartram, Mrs Holmes, Mrs Thornton, Mrs Maude and Miss Rangiul
