The St. John Ambulance Hall in Palmerston Road has resounded on recent Saturdays to the songs of dozens of pedigree birds, petted and preened to their best for the judge's eye. This picture of some of the cream of the district's budgerigars, their cages bearing the ribbons and rosettes of high honour, was taken at the annual show of the East Coast Budgerigar Society (N.Z.).
