The agitation for the reopening of William Pettie bridge over the Waimata still occupies considerable space in the correspondence columns of the "Herald". Picture above shows big herd of cattle coming over bridge earlier this month. Committee's argument is that if bridge can carry so many cattle at once there can't be much wrong with it that a few thousand pounds wouldn't fix.
