Autumn Tints at Eastwoodhill

In the memory of long-time residenis of Poverty Bay, autumn has never been as beautiful as it is this year. The long, dry summer has brought an extra touch of colour to the district's well-planted countryside. The best is now past, but for the beauty-lover in both city and country, the full glory of autumn tints was a joy for many weeks.

Some day we hope to print coloured pictures in "Photo News". Our regret this autumn is that this day is not yet here. The pictures on these pages show some of the many visitors who enjoyed the wonderful display at Eastwoodhill, Mr W.D.Cook's property at Ngatapa, on a recent Sunday. The monochrome pictures were taken on a day when the sun was not on the job, and only faintly convey the beauty of the scene.
