"Endeavour" Returns to Gisborne

Many young folk in Gisborne have never seen snow or ice. For them, the arrival of the "Endeavour" so soon after her return to Nev Zealand provided them with a vicarious thrill of Antarctic exploration.

During the "Endeavour's" stay here at the end of March, hundreds of people, young and old, took the opportunity provided to inspect the stout little ship which brought Sir Vivian Fuchs and Sir Edmund Hillary and their co–explorers back from Antarctica.
