With fine but cool weather for People's Day, the thousands of patrons who attended the Poverty Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Association's annual spring show this year were able to enjoy the attractions of the big event without the discomfort often caused by a day in the sun. Except for the jubilee show two years ago, the gate takings were a record, so that the committee, in addition to the pride it must have felt in the smooth running of the fixture, had the added satisfaction of a good financial result.

The fins display of stock attracted much favourable comment, and the grand parade was truly a reflection of the richness of the district and the quality of its breeding methods.

On People's Day at the show, the accent is very much on people. It is their day. They come to see the parade, the exhibitions, the industrial displays, and sideshow alley—and above all else, to see each other. It is this gathering together of people from town and country, from factory and farm, in the informal and pleasing surroundings of the show, which in the special attraction of People's Day. On this page are two pictures taken at random of people enjoying their day at the Show.
