Bowling Notes And Pictures

A visitor to Gisborne last month was the president of the New Zealand Bowling Council, Mr W. J. Short, of Auckland, who paid a round of visits to local clubs.

A visitor who had something important to offer local bowlers was Sir Bruce Levy, the grasslands expert, who addressed club and centre executives and greenkeepers on the renovation and improvement of greens. He is seen above left with Mrs Gibson, president of the Riverside Ladies' Club, with whom he had afternoon tea, and later with the gathering on the club's green (below).
