Anniversary Celebrations

The 21st birthday of the Park Golf Club was celebrated recently when a number of foundation members, including Mr L. Harris, Auckland, the first president, attended a function in the clubhouse. Those in the group of first members, above, are: Seated, Tom Bayliss, Miss C. Kay, Les Harris, Miss R. Preston, Allan Tarn. Standing, Gordon Heighway, Len Lunken, Mrs E. Heighway, J. McMillan, Frank Dobbie, Peter Dow.

Mr Harris opened the season with the same ball he used for that function 21 years ago.

Mrs E. Morley, Salisbury Road, celebrated her 80th birthday recently. In this picture taken at the celebration party, Mrs Morley is seen with members of her family, Mrs H. Falleni and Mrs R. Haache, and at rear, Mrs V. Binnie, Mr N. Morley and Mr C. Morley.

The Post and Telegraph Women's League held its fifth birthday celebrations recently, when the president, Mrs Gordon, welcomed members.
During the afternoon members gave a burlesque on early movies, entitled "Wild Nell". Those who took part were, left to right, Mesdames J. Tyer (commentator), Corbett, Drummond, Blair, Irving, Braithwaite. Seated, Miss Mahoney.
