School Dedication

The unveiling of a bronze plaque in Gisborne last week marked a big step forward in the district's facilities for postprimary education.

The occasion was the formal opening by the chief inspector of secondary schools, Mr F. R. G. Aitken, of the Gisborne Girls' High School. Girls have been attending the school since February, but the official dedication was delayed until the grounds had been developed.

Despite the school's plain exterior, the offices and classrooms are both colourful and attractive.
