Races At Makaraka

To the average punter, the Poverty Bay Turf Club's meeting at Makaraka was a satisfying day, when favourites did well despite a heavy track.

To Ray Kerr, the meeting was a personal triumph: He trained the winners of both legs of the double, Noumea and St. Peter. They were both favourites and the double dividend was only £21.4s.6d.
