Mr Percy Bayley, Mr Jim Vagg, and Mr Chas. Clayton, who have been elected life members of the Gisborne Municipal Band.
Mr Bayley is a vice–president of the band; Mr Vagg, a bass drummer, is a former secretary and drum–major; and Mr Clayton, a bass player, is a former secretary.
On one occasion Mr Clayton played both cornet and bass at the same contest.

When Mrs Vivien Williams, daughter of Mr & Mrs H. V. Ravenhill, Shaw St., stepped from a plane at Darton Field recently she became reunited with her parents after a separation of 10 years. And she hadn't seen her only sister for 17 years.
Mrs. Williams visited Britain with her parents in 1934, decided to stay there.
During the war she married an American serviceman & has since been living at Mt. Prospect, Chicago.
Now Mrs Williams and her husband –– an ex–cycling champion––have decided to settle in Gisborne. Kandid

Mrs R. Pearson, Kennedy Road, who has left Gisborne to reside in Blenheim. Mrs Pearson has been associated with the Girl Guide movement since 1918. She was the first president of the Mangapapa association and later served as secretary.

Mr Jim Eadie, new licensee of the Patutahi Hotel, & Mrs Eadie. He was formerly licensee of the Red Lion Hotel, Wanganui. He takes over from Mr Geo. Ausling, who is leaving for Australia.
