Old picture sent in by reader shows Gladstone Road as it looked is 1910. The photograph was taken as the trades procession passed on Labour Day, October 12. Building in right foreground is on Gladstone Rd.-Peel St. corner.

Peter Hughes, of Valley Road, demonstrates just what a magician can do with a top hat. A Post and Telegraph Dept. employee, Peter has been transferred to Wellington. He was a keen member of the Gisborne Magicians' Society.

Well wrapped up to keep him warm, this little lamb, "Bambi", was only 2½lbs when he was born on Wakawaihine Station, Dannevirke, but he's thriving now. Feeding with eye-dropper helped him through the crisis. Picture was sent in by Mrs G. M. Harris, formerly of Gisborne.

Transport to school is no problem to the children of Hihiroa Station. Only six pupils attend the school, and this pony carries them all. Pictured here are Lance Beets, Annette McNeil, Florence McNeil, Judy McNeil, Faye Carswell, who sent in the picture, and Trevor McNeil.
