Farewell To Fred

Mr Fred Forman has retired from Te Rau Press Ltd after 39 years with the company. He is a compositor by trade and was factory manager for many years. The staff gave him a resounding send-off and presented him with two suitcases which he proudly holds. Mr Forman, second from left, is pictured surrounded by staff members at the send-off.

Jubilee Present

At not inconsiderable expense J. S. Allan and Son Ltd have presented the combined swimming clubs with seven very nice tubs for use at the Olympic Pool. The tubs, one for each lane, are for use by the competing swimmers in which to put towels and any other gear while they themselves are in the water. Making the presentation is Mr Derek Allan (left) to Mrs Edna Wauchop (combined clubs' secretary) and to Mr Colin Hacche (president).
