Venturer Thrills
Organised by Te Hapara and Mangapapa Venturers a number of Scouts (also from both these groups) enjoyed a day of adventure, and not a few thrills, rubber rafting on the Waioeka River recently. Several stretches of swift water were negotiated with confidence and respect, as well as a few rapids.
Members of the group put out from the bank for a sortie down the river.
John Bishop, Bob Nalder and Dave Wallen paddle throught one of the rapids.
Steven Hughes, Duncan McIntosh and Ian Hughes take off over a water bank.
Not to be outdone, the Te Hapara Cub Pack, and leaders, spent a very enjoyable Founder's Day on an excursion to Beach Loop. Here they are pictured at the little old station.
