Speedy Polo

Fast ponies ridden by equally fast riders contributed to some very exciting games in the annual Poverty Bay Teacher's Open Polo Tournament at Bushmere. The three-day fixture attracted extra good crowds who witnessed consistently powerful play.

Don Avenell showed pace and speed playing for the Poverty Bay 'A' juniors in the their game against Hawke's Bay 'B'.

Lionel Stone comes away nicely in the junior game, Ruakituri versus Hawke's Bay 'A'.

Graham Ingoe clears away precisely for Poverty Bay 'A' against Hawkes Bay 'B'.

In the same game Paul Shanks (P.B.) comes in for a nice drive during some mid-field play.

Sonny Broughton gets in a nice backhand for Whatatutu in that team's game against Wanstead.

Also playing for Whatatutu, Warwick Stevens gets in a short backhand against Wanstead.
