New Cricket Score-Board
Trevor Dolman, 21-year-old son of Mr and Mrs M. P. Dolman, Kanakanaia, has been awarded the Bank of New South Wales Bursary and the N.Z. Master Plumbers' Travel Grant for one year's study and work in Australia. Trevor, who is with D.B. Worsnop Ltd, will spend eleven months across the Tasman working in Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia. He is pictured (right) with Bank of New South Wales manager Stan Maxwell as he receives his travel itinerary.
Leaving the Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry for an extended trip to South Africa is Neil Fraser. He is going to a university in Swaziland on an initial two-year appointment and will lecture in animal husbandry.
Gisborne cricketers now have a handsome new score-board in place at the Harry Barker Reserve. From timber donated by Holt's and building expertise supplied by J. W. O'Donoghue Ltd, the board is a very welcome amenity at the grounds. Company representative Pat O'Donoghue (left) officially hands over the score-board to Cricket Association chairman John Heikell.
