From Mrs Elsie Skittrup of 145 Vigor Brown Street, Napier, comes this picture of 11 Maori ladies taken at a hui at Manutuke early this century. In the postcard, which was actually purchased by Mrs Skittrup when she was teaching at the Waingake School in 1912, seven of the women have the moko. The moko (or tattoo on the chin) is a very rare sight today.
