Holes-in-one by John Guy (left) and Warren Barry (centre) qualified them to receive a tie each from the Booth Gin Company. These ties are presented through the local distributing company and here D. J. Barry's manager "Snow" Hansen presents the ties to the recipients. Both John and Warren are members of the Poverty Bay Golf Club. John scored his hole-in-one at Tolaga Bay while Warren scored his on his home course.

Four generations photographed together recently are pictured here. They are, from left. Mrs H. J. Masemann, 29 Ropata Street (great-grandmother), Mrs Carol Elsraore, Tawa, mother, Mrs Vera Ashton, 812 Childers Road (grand-mother), and Sacha Maree Elsmore, also of Tawa, who is, of course, the great-grand-daughter.

Wayne Atkins, 15, the son of Mr and Mrs V. C. Atkins, Concord Avenue, Mt Maunganui, was a member of the New Zealand Boys High Schools' Water Polo team which toured Australia for two weeks in December. They played against New South Wales teams in Sydney and Tamworth. Wayne lived the first eleven years of his life in Chalmers Road, after which the family shifted to Mt Maunganui. Wayne learnt to swim with the McGlashen Swimming Club so older members will be pleased to learn of his progress.

Josephine Keelan, Tolaga Bay, has been to Australia on a three-week tour of the Aborigine settlements there in connection with welfare work. Josephine is an ex-pupil of Queen Victoria Maori Girls College, and the Gisborne Girls High School. She has just spent a few days at home before taking up her duties as a Social Welfare worker in the Wellington area.
