Where The Big Jets Are ...

Ten Gisborne exporters spent September 10 inspecting Air New Zealand's jet base in Auckland. Flying up in the morning, they looked at the airline's cargo facilities, engineering and maintenance setup, the DC-8 and DC-10 flight simulators, engine test cell, and went through a DC-10 which was in the hangar for a maintenance check. Late in the afternoon they flew back home, all agreeing that it had been a fascinating experience.

Shades of Walter Mitty perhaps as David Pitkethley tries out a DC-10 skipper's seat!
