Here And There

That Mighty, Mighty Limit

What a great Easter holiday it was for Brian Casey of 38 Norman Road. On two consecutive days he went to Waikaremoana and got the trout limit — early in the piece. He started fishing around 7 a.m. on both days and had them in the bag before noon. And boy, what beautiful condition, what delicate flavour! But nine fish in less than four hours on each day — you can't be luckier than that!

Cooking It Up

Omelettes, that is, not trout. The cooking in this case has been done by pupils from Rooms 1, 2 and 8 at the Gisborne Intermediate School. The project was part of the Health Department's World Health Week, the subject in particular being "Better Food For A Healthier World." The cooks made omelettes and a salad (plenty of proteins you see) and served the meal up with fresh bread and butter and a cup of tea. The thing was, tho', what to do with it all? No problem. Members of the Old Folk's Association were invited to lunch and they pronounced the effort absolutely delicious! The four cooks in front here are Lyn Traue, Debbie Wildish, Petine Carruthers and April Hansen.
