Athletic Awards
On the last night of the Gisborne Athletic and Harrier Club's evening series, two awards were made.
Brian Anderson (centre) receives the Carmichael Trophy from Bruce Carmichael as Mrs W. Carmichael looks on. This top award goes to the winner of the most points in the Hawke's Bay and Poverty Bay Athletic championships each year.
The Guy and Dunsmore. Athletic League was' won by Ngatapa with Lytton Pirates taking second place. Points wore awarded over a six-week period during which three events per club night were run. The $100 league will enable the clubs to add to their respective funds.
