Golfing Grand-Dad

×

The winner of the national Grand-dad's Day National Golf Tournament was ANZ Bank manager Eric Parker of Tolaga Bay. The competition, organised by the distributors of Old Grand-dad Whiskey, was open to all grandfathers in New Zealand. They had to play their game on grandfathers' day and the player with the most stable-ford points took the title. Mr Parker did best with a 39. He was presen ted with a desk stand on which is a gold statuette, a golf ball and an ash tray. Also parked on the stand is a tricky, extendable putter with which, no doubt, Eric Parker will knock up many more stableford points. Mr Parker (centre) was presented with the stand, and a large bottle of Old Grand-dad, by. D. J. Barry's manager Snow Hansen. At right is Mr Parker's wife, Lee. On Mr Parker's nomination, entry fees from the tournament are being donated to the New Zealand Heart Foundation.
