First Gisborne Appointee
The first man to be assigned an industrial training appointment in Gisborne is Mr Bob Bothamley, Mr Bothamley is assistant works manager at the Gisborne Refrigerating Company and the appointment allows him to be available for any advice needed by the staff in relation to administration skills. Mr Bothamley has been taking his course from Mr Bob Cowan, senior officer with the Industrial Training Service in the Dannevirke to Ruatoria area. The service, which encourages management by objectives, actually started in 1940 but this is the first appointment of a training officer in Gisborne.
